Atlas  Root Stock

Atlas root stock is a vigorous root stock that is resistant to certain root-stock nematodes.  It is sensitive to wet conditions, but excels in comparitive to ordinary peach seedlings when exposed to brackish or free-lime conditions. It is sensitive to drying out, especially at planting time, so care must be taken to prevent underwatering. Fruits tend to be larger when grown on atlas rootstocks, however, this larger fruit does tend to cause a delayed maturity of a few days.
